Our Policies

Our approach to injured-worker treatment offers high quality medical services that are easily accessible and convenient.  Providers participating in the PCT program have an interest and expertise in the treatment of injured workers and the medical management performed by PCT.  They are partners with PCT and our customers in reducing unnecessary costs associated with treating work injuries.  PCT Providers use the PCT treatment protocols based on the ODG treatment guidelines that promote aggressive management and support an early return-to-work strategy that allows the worker to remain in a productive environment while recovering.  PCT is committed to developing the best proven tools to meet our goals and the needs of our customers and providers.

Our Treatment Protocols

Implementation and application of nationally recognized and developed treatment guidelines and return-to-work guidelines will be used by PCT to reduce inappropriate or unnecessary health care while safeguarding access to necessary care.  PCT recognizes that the use of such guidelines on a broad basis in Texas is new and untested, and will make every effort to develop safety net procedures to ensure fairness to patients, providers, employers, and payors.   PCT adopts the Official Disability Guidelines (ODG) published by the Work Loss Data Institute, latest version.
